This weeks challenge on the Fantabulous Cricut Challeng Blog is...
Let's Celebrate Birthdays!

I could not resist making another 3D item so I decided to come up with this 3D Cupcake using the Tags, Bags, Boxes and More 2, Ribbons & Rosettes and the Mother's Day Bouquet Cricut Cartridges!

I hope you can play along with us this week at the Challenge Blog!

Details:
  1. I cut the on Pg 35 of the Tags, Bags, Boxes and More 2 Cartridge at 8 ¾” out of the polka dot patterned paper and assembled the box following the directions in the cartridge box.
  2. I cut 7 of the on Pg 21 of the Ribbons & Rosettes Cartridge at 2” and folded them and glued them together.  I then attached them to the cupcake box with glue dots to look like a cupcake wrapper.
  3. Using Cricut Craft Room I used the Digital Cartridge Mothers Day Bouquet to cut The Flower 5 as follows:  cut from patterned paper (yellow) two at 1” one at 1.5” and one at 1.75” and put them together using a pop dot between each layer.  I also cut two of the Leaf2 at 1.5” from Patterned Paper (green) I then glued all the flower pieces to the leaves and attached it to the cupcake.
  4. cut a piece of patterned paper (pink) at 3” x 2” and tape a piece of twine to the centre and roll up the paper to create a candle.
  5. Cut Banner using PTI Die from white cardstock and stamp sentiment in brown ink.

I could not resist adding a little cut felt in there along with the twisted wire for the candle!

I hope you can play along with us this week at the Challenge Blog!

Details:
  1. Cut 2 of the shape with the blackout feature turned on from White Cardstock and 1 from Craft cardstock.
  2. Cut 2 of the shift with the blackout feature from yellow patterned paper and from 1  from pink cardstock.  Keep the cupcake top and 2 of the flames from the yellow pieces and the candle from the pink cardstock.
  3. Using a pencil wrap the wire around to create the curly look.
  4. Create a card base by scoring the top of the back white cupcake cut and gluing to the top white cupcake cut.   Make sure to glue the Wire inbetween the 2 candle pieces when creating the white card base.
  5. Cut the candle off the kraft cut and glue to card base.
  6. Glue the pink Felt banner to the Kraft cut.

Birthday Card for my Mom!

Well it was my mom's birthday on Wednesday and she and my Dad came for a visit for Dinner... I made Chicken Cordon Swiss, Scalloped Potatoes and Broccoli and also made our traditional Family Birthday Cake but made it a little fancier by making it into 2 levels. I also had a brainstorm when I was at the liquor store and picked up a bottle of Baby Duck - my mom said she used to drink this as a teen! So thought it would be a nice meal!

Card Details: Patterned Paper is My Mind's Eye (Bohemia - Bliss"Love of my Life" Tiny Dots/Blue and I made the two Hearts using a sizzix die, I used the Alphalicous Cricut Cartridge for the Wording "mom" and stickled them. Stamped the saying Birthday wishes on a cuttlebug tag and distressed it with blue ink. I added some ribbon and ric rac to the card along with a small felt cupcake by Martha Stewart!
