This week's challenge on Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog is to create anything water related!

I have to say I had a blast making this project!  I could not resist adding all the cool little details like the Pirate Hat and the Waves!  I started out with a SVG file from Cre8ive Cutz called Pirate Ship which I altered the ship mast a bit to suit the additional details.  I cut a number of different styles of waves from the Artbooking criut cartridge to create the waves around the ship.

I added this cute little pirate hat cut from the Boys Will Be Boys cricut cartridge!  The pieces were inked and I used a glittered cardstock for the pirate knife handle, I could not resist backing it all with a little burlap!

I hope you can play along with us at Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog!

FCCB#219 - Day at the Beach (Fun Times Beach Bucket)

Since I am on Team B of the Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog this is really my first official post for the Design Team so I had to go all out!  The challenge for this week is to create a project that has to do with anything Beach Related!

I decided to make this cute little little beach bucket and I used a little chalk on the sun and wave die cuts to give a little more definition to the shapes.  I used the Life's a Beach (Castle & Waves) & Pack your Bags (Sun) Cricut Cartridges.

I  also decided to actually add some sand the to the sandcastle die cut so I stuck it through my Xyron sticker maker and then sprinkled some of the sand on top to make it actually look like sand castle!

I could not resist making a little tag for the handle!   I used some brown chalk on the sun.

Plastic Beach Bucket Instructions:
Yellow Bucket - Dollarstore, Cricut Expression, Life’s A Beach Cricut Cartridge (Castle Pg 61 and Waves Pg 45, Title Beach) and Pack your Bags Cricut Catridge (Sun) . Kraft Cardstock, Sand, Patterned Paper: Little Yellow Bicycle (Winter Twig) Blue, TCP Studios (Summertime Relaxin’) Red/Pink and; Green/Yellow. Die: PTI – Tag Sale 3 (Tag), PTI Ink: Dark Chocolate; yellow stickles; Pink Cosmo Cricket Letter Stickers.
  1. Cut the sand castle at 3 ¼” from Page 61 of the Life’s A Beach Cricut Cartridge from Kraft cardstock.
  2. Run the sandcastle through the Xyron Sticker maker so the cut is sticky on the front and sprinkle cut with sand.
  3. Hand cut some flags and attach toothpicks to them and glue them to the back of the castle.
  4. Cut 2 of the waves using the Border feature at 1 ¼” from Blue Patterned Paper.
  5. Cut Tag from Green Patterned Paper using your cuttlebug
  6. Cut a piece of kraft cardstock to fit the inside of the tag and ink it with Brown Ink.
  7. Cut the title Beach from Pg 78 at 1 ¾ from Yellow cardstock and trim away the pelican
  8. Cut 2 of the sun from pg 28 of Pack your Bags cartridge from Yellow patterned paper and trim the circle from one.
  9. Place title and sun  on tag and use stickles on the word beach

Crazy Card Party #26 - Paper Patio Lanterns!

The Challenge this week is Patio Lanterns as our inspiration!  I made these cool patio lanterns using my Silhouette and a 3D Egg Cut that I found in their online store!

I wanted to be able to remove them easily so I put some eyelets in the top and tied them closed with the light inside using twine!

They turned out perfectly for the Cabana!

I altered the file slightly as they were origianlly a 3D Egg and I only wanted the cutouts to be in the cetnre.  I did this using the Silhouette Software before cutting each of the shapes!

I hope you can play along with us this week!
