Let's Celebrat Eh!

So I know it has been a while since I posted on my blog but now is a better time than ever since we are Celebrating Canada Day!  Paper-Garden.ca is having a Canada Day Card Challenge  you can find out more at Paper Garden if you would like to play along!  Here is the project I came up with!




I used my cricut to cut the sentiments and the flag for the card.  I also used some really cool metallic paper from Paper-Garden.ca (Curious metallics Red cardstock and a Ice Silver Metallic Envelope)  I also used Stardream crystal Metallic White Cardstock).

My project for this week's Challenge is a Cloud shaped card! I hope you like it!


I used the April Showers cricut cartridge to make the cloud.  I cut it at 3 3/4" and the twig is from the Straight from the nest cartridge and it is ucut at 1 1/2".  The little birds are some wood veneer I found in my stash!

so I came up with this!!!

Our Challenge this month is sponsored by Kitty Bee Designs and I was provided with this adorable little Raccoon Stamp to use! I also used the Ribbons & Rosettes and the Seasonal Cake Art cartridges to cut the different hearts!  I just could not resist adding some stickles to the little hearts and some glossy accents to his eyes!



I could not resist making this little bucket of chocolates! 




Details:
  1. Print the stamp at 3” and cut it out.
  2. Colour the printed stamp with your copic markers, add the glossy accents and red stickles.
  3. From both the Grey & Red cardstock cut one Scalloped heart at 2 ½”, and 2 at 2”.
  4. From both the Grey & Red cardstock cut one of the hearts at 2” and another 2 at 1 ¾”.
  5. Glue the Sticks to the back of the heart shaped chocolates – glue the scalloped hearts to the back of the candy and the glue the hearts to the front of the chocolate.
  6. Add the arrow and heart diecuts to two of the finished hearts.
  7. Add the Stamped Raccoon to the largest of the hearts.
  8. Add the stickers to the front of the pink bucket.
  9. Place some dry beans in the can and cut the wooden sticks at different heights and place in the bucket.

Create a project inspired by Snowmen/Snowpeople

While I do not own any Pretty Cute Stamps yet... I know the owner of the store has some SVG files available on the Pretty Paper Pretty Ribbons site and I just could not resist using this Sweet Snowmen SVG to create these Snow Friends!


First up is the Snow Girl, I could not resist using a little copic marker to create the cheeks and I used a embossing folder on the body of the snowgirl/boy for some texture!


I added the Hat on the Snow Boy using the Create A Critter Cricut Cartridge and embellished it with the Holly leaves from the Art Philosophy Cricut Cartridge!




Details:
  1. Open the SVG file in Cricut Design Space and cut all cutting files at the original size from the different patterned paper pieces.
  2. Cut 2 extra full snowman base from white cardstock to use for the card base. 
  3. Using the Create A Critter 2 Cartridge cut the Hat from Pg 51 at 2 ½” from Black Cardstock
  4. Using the Art Philosopy Cricut Cartridge cut the Holly and berries from Page 46 at 1” from both the Teal and Pink patterned papers.
  5. Score down the centre of the holly leaves and glue to the second piece to add some dimension.
  6. Using the Embossing folder emboss the bottom half of both snowman bodies.
  7. Ink and glue all the pieces together to create the card.

CCP Challenge #49 - Use Something New

This weeks Challenge on Crazy Card Party is....

To use something new.... so I decided to finally break out my new Cricut Explore machine and created this in Cricut Design Space and cut it on my New Cricut Machine!  Let me say it was so easy to figure out!  I even used a cricut cartridge Love you Latte that I have never used and owned for like forever so I consider it new too!

Here is my card to wish you some Warm Wishes during this cold week!


As you can see I could not resist adding dimension to the steam coming from cup  I used Pop dots to do this.


Here also I managed a little dimension with the word cafe and the hearts!


Details:
  1. Using Cricut Design Space size the coffee cup from the Love you a Latte to fit the card canvas.
  2. Ungroup all the shapes and copy the main base  2 times.
  3. Copy the heart one time.
  4. Group your cuts together so they cut on the same mat that you need them to be.
  5. Cut all the cuts out on the Cricut Expore
  6. Using a Sticker maker add brown glitter to the top of the brown cuts.
  7. Ink all the edges of the cuts and add some glitter to the steam shapes.
  8. Attach all the pieces together.

CCP Challenge #48 - Celebrate

This weeks Challenge on Crazy Card Party is....


Regan has asked us to create a project to celebrate!  I decided to create a little gift with a sparkly word celebrate on it.  I used the Cricut Cartridge "Celebrations"to create the Card.


Details:
  1. Cut the word Celebrate (Pg 126) from white cardstock at 1 ¼”
  2. Run the cut through the sticker maker to make the front of the cut sticky – add some glitter to it to make it sparkly.
  3. Cut the from white cardstock using the shadow feature 2 times at 4 ½” high.
  4. Cut the same from both pink patterned papers trim the top of the cut from the dark one and keep it.
  5. Cut the shift from the dark patterned paper.
  6. Create a card base from the 2 white present cuts.
  7. Add all the other pieces together to create the card.
  8. Finish it off with some Ribbon, Twine & a button.

I created a belated Christmas Card for this challenge!  I thought the cute little penguin with the tree in the Christmas Car SVG file from Pretty Paper Pretty Ribbons totally embraced the Winter Fun Theme!

Details:
  1. Open the SVG file in Cricut Design Space and cut all cutting files at the original size from the different patterned paper pieces.
  2. Cut an extra car base from white cardstock to use for the card base.
  3. Cut an extra Tree layer to create a dimensional tree.
  4. Using the Create a Friend Cricut Cartridge, cut from yellow patterned paper 2 stars at 1” and cut 4 stars at ½”.
  5. Score down the extra green tree layer and glue to give dimension to the tree – add the stars and sequins with glue.
  6. Glue all the pieces together to create the card.
